Woman in her 20s is 'raped by several men outside church' after being followed leaving night club

By MATT STRUDWICK, SENIOR NEWS REPORTER Published: 12:43, 12 April 2026 | Updated: 12:57, 12 April 2026 A woman was raped by several men outside a church after being followed when she left a nightclub, police have said.  The female, aged in her 20s, was attacked between 2am and 4am on Saturday outside the Epsom Methodist Church on Ashley Road, in Epsom, Surrey.  Surrey Police said she had been followed by a group of men after she left the nearby Labyrinth nightclub.  Officers have now launched a manhunt for the suspects and currently remain in the area.  The force added that it currently did not have 'full descriptions of the suspects' and are 'working hard' on this.  Detective Inspector Aine Matthews said: 'We understand this is an extremely distressing incident and the victim is being supported by specialist officers. 'Our investigation is in its early stages and a team of officers have been conducting extensive enquiries today to identify and locate the suspects. 'As part of our investigation, we would like to speak to anyone who was in the area between 2am and 4am and may have been seen or spoken to a woman in her 20s in distress.'
