Widow of meth-crazed celebrity dentist Dr Steven Lin describes the 'nightmare' loss of her brother after a routine surgery

Christopher Jenkins, 40, died on June 18 following complications from elective ear, nose and throat surgery to address snoring issues. His sister Cassandra Lin, who previously said she was abused by her former husband Dr Steven Lin during their marriage, has described her grief after the loss. 'He went into surgery hoping for something so simple - a better night's sleep,' she said in a GoFundMe. 'Instead, our family has been left living every loved one's worst nightmare. 'He was my sibling soulmate, my protector, my greatest supporter, my safest place, and the person I loved most in this world.' Ms Lin said the siblings had been close throughout their lives, particularly during tough periods. 'We spoke every day. We lived together. He moved his entire family across states to support me in my darkest times,' she said. Ms Lin set up the fundraiser to support his children as he was the sole provider for his family while working as a commercial funding specialist at Balmain Group. 'His beautiful children were the light of his life. Every decision he made, every hour he worked, every sacrifice he made was for them,' she said. 'He was fiercely proud of them and dedicated his life to making sure they were loved, protected, and given every opportunity to thrive. 'Now, in the midst of unimaginable grief, they are also facing an uncertain future without the man who worked so hard to provide for them. 'It is a reality Christopher would never have wanted.' The GoFundMe raised more than $6,000 in two days, with the largest donation of $2,500 from Ms Lin's police officer boyfriend, Jay, who established the page on her behalf. Pictured are emergency personnel at the scene Cassandra Lin said her brother Christopher Jenkins was her protector and safest place Dr Lin, 41, was shot dead during a tense standoff with officers in Sydney's Potts Point after he attacked two female strangers, Chloe Paul and her neighbour Christine Campeau, while armed with a knife.  It marked the final chapter of a life that had descended from professional success into personal turmoil.  By the time he died, Lin had a disturbing history of stalking, assault, choking and repeatedly breaching apprehended violence orders. Police bodycam footage released this week showed Lin half-buried in a garden after he assaulted a stranger, Nick Skarvelis, outside his Wollongong home in May 2025, about 10 months before his death. Friends previously claimed his behaviour deteriorated following the breakdown of his marriage, amid affairs, deception and increasingly erratic conduct.  In a letter read at her ex-husband's funeral, Ms Lin said she had never recovered from uncovering the truth about his conduct. Lin became a superstar dentist after authoring his global bestseller The Dental Diet about the importance of dental health and good nutrition for brain function and overall wellness. He delivered TED talks, owned two successful practices on the NSW Central Coast and often travelled to the US to appear on television programs discussing his specialist field. During his addiction, he was accused of threatening to kill his ex-wife and mother of his five children, as well as the woman with whom he had an affair and fathered a sixth child. 'I will slit your throat and rip your head off and hang your body in the garage,' Lin had told his wife in September 2024 during an earlier ice bender. By then, the Lins had already separated and she was continuing their practice with a new dentist. In addition to trying to keep the business running, she was also caring for their young children in the family's $5million home on the Central Coast. No comments have so far been submitted.
