Teenage 'trans student who dressed as a dog stabs parents to death and knifes pet golden retriever'

Published: 17:14, 23 June 2026 | Updated: 17:21, 23 June 2026 A teen who attended school as a 'furry' dressed as a dog has been accused of killing his parents and stabbing their dog - then sharing macabre images of the scene with fellow students. The schoolboy, 15, who is reportedly transitioning from girl to boy, was arrested last week in Groningen in the Netherlands and charged with double murder, according to Dutch outlet RTL.  The police were alerted in the early hours of Thursday morning to the death of Johan and Mathilda, both 53. Their golden retriever was also found with suspected stab wounds and taken away by the animal ambulance.  The suspect allegedly shared images of his dead parents with multiple friends and school peers on WhatsApp, The Telegraaf reported. 'You could see both of her [his] parents lying on the ground with their eyes open. Her [his] father was lying on the floor, and mother on the bed.  'There was blood visible and a knife,' one student told the outlet. 'She wore a tail, dog ears, and gloves,' another classmate told the outlet. 'And sometimes she would make barking sounds.'  Another student told RTL: 'They would sometimes sit on the table and make animal noises.'  Another student described the suspect as 'quiet' and having 'problems'.  She said: 'He was very nice. Often quiet. But he also had problems. I reported it to the school, but the school said that teachers couldn't do anything about it because he didn't want to talk about it.' The student will remain in custody for another ten days, said the Public Prosecution Service. In the Netherlands, the maximum prison sentence for those aged 12-15 is just one year. For offenders between 16 and 17 it is two years. In exceptional cases, a judge can mandate that juveniles be placed in an institutional centre. This treatment is not capped at two years and can be extended indefinitely if the offender is considered an ongoing danger to society. If a crime is considered especially severe, the judge could try them under adult criminal law, which carries a maximum sentence of life.   No comments have so far been submitted.
