ALBAWABA - After Britain’s PM Andy Burnham visit to Ukraine on its independence day, where he announced that he will be sharing military blueprints with the country, Russia responded by threatening the UK of ‘semi-military’ response.
The blueprints Burnham is sharing are those of the Storm Shadow/Scalp missile – the British/French version of the Patriot missile; a notable move after Trump promised blueprints of the Patriot to Ukraine before walking back his statements.
"We have not agreed to that. We're talking about it. But it's a hard thing to give away, that kind of technology," Trump said.
Burnham pointed out that the issue of the Patriot missile is “fixable” and said the US wasn’t the only one who could supply Ukraine with them.
"There are other players who could help in the mix who we have influence with," he said. "It's probably going to be a solution that involves a lot of layers and a lot of negotiation."
Andrei Fedorov, adviser to the Kremlin, on the other hand, has described the UK’s actions as adding “fuel to the fire” pointing out that the UK “is involved in this war on the side of the Kyiv regime,” and warned of a “semi-military” response.
Burnham's only response was "Who started the fire? That's the question, isn't it?"
"I am proud of the contribution our country has made to Ukraine and I want the Ukrainian people to hear it directly from me that our support will not waver. After all, Ukraine's security is our security." Burnham said in a speech on Ukraine's independence day.
"Russia should be in no doubt of our resolve. We will not back down until there is a just and lasting peace." he added.
