Published: 06:45, 21 July 2026 | Updated: 06:50, 21 July 2026 A pilot miraculously survived after his small jet crashed into a tony suburban home on Monday morning. It is believed the unidentified pilot, the only person onboard the Piper J3C-65, had been trying to land at Covey Trails Airstrip in Texas at around 6am when he instead collided into the roof of a house in the town of Fulshear. The homeowner had been in bed at the time when they told ABC 13 they heard a loud boom as the plane struck the house. Dramatic photos from the aftermath showed the yellow jet propped up against the house, with one tire on the roof and a wing on the ground - just feet away from the swimming pool. Crews from the Fulshear Simonton Fire Department, Community Volunteer Fire Department, Fort Bend HAZMAT, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office and the Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Constable's Office then rushed to the scene. When they arrived, they found the pilot alert but stuck inside the cockpit, Fulshear Simonton Fire Department Battalion Chief Ford Stein told the network. But before firefighters could help get the pilot down, Stein said they needed to secure the area. A Piper J3C-65 jet crashed into the roof of a house near Fulshear, Texas on Monday morning 'We needed to secure electricity to the house with the fuel leaking and the vapor,' he explained. 'We didn't want to cause a spark and cause a bigger problem than we already had.' Eventually, though, they were able to reach the pilot - and found that he only suffered some minor injuries for which he was transported to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital. 'You know, you always hear "airplane crash," and you don't always hear of someone walking away from it,' Stein noted. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.المصدر: Daily Mail | Source: Daily Mail
