He was benched for the Europa League final, reacting angrily on social media, and later shared photos of himself wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Marcus Rashford's name.‌He made it clear he wanted out and United were happy to facilitate the move. Butt was in charge of the club's academy when Garnacho first rocked up and it was clear he rated himself, but his antics towards the final days were simply unacceptable.He said on The Good, The Bad & The Football: "I thought he had an edge about him. And when he got into the first team - I will just say what I think because I was there - he got above his station way too quick.
