Published: 07:43, 3 July 2026 | Updated: 07:43, 3 July 2026 A man has been charged with double murder after two dead bodies were found inside a home in a Sussex seaside town. Police were called to an address in Seven Acre Close, St Leonards-on-Sea, shortly after 4.30am on Tuesday, June 30, after reports that a man and a woman had been injured. Officers discovered the bodies of 66-year-old Adrian Horton and 46-year-old Uschi Schild inside the property. Their next of kin have been informed. Sean Gray, 58, of no fixed address, was arrested shortly afterwards at an address in Battle Road. Sussex Police have now confirmed he has been charged with two counts of murder. Gray is due to appear before Brighton Magistrates' Court on Friday, July 3. The development comes after MailOnline previously reported that a 58-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of double murder following the deaths.  Neighbours also claimed they heard fighting at the property on the evening before the bodies were discovered. One resident, who asked not to be named, previously said: 'Neighbours heard a fight last night. Police vehicles parked outside an address in Seven Acre Close in St Leonards-on-Sea on Tuesday  Officers discovered the bodies of 66-year-old Adrian Horton and 46-year-old Uschi Schild inside the property  'I think there were two males and two females at the address. The whole scene and how everything is looks like a murder.' Detective Superintendent Jay Mendis-Gunasekera said: 'This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts remain with the families, friends and loved ones of those who have died at this very difficult time. 'This remains a fast-moving investigation as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding these deaths. 'We believe that the suspect and the victims were known to each other and we are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the investigation. 'Officers continue to carry out enquiries at the address and in the surrounding area, and an increased police presence will remain while those enquiries continue. 'I would like to thank the officers involved for their tireless work since this incident, and the local community for their patience, cooperation, and the information they have shared with us as our enquiries continue. 'We are still appealing to anyone with relevant information, such as CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone or dashcam footage, to report online or phone 101, quoting Operation Newington.' Police continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage from the area to come forward as the investigation continues. Sorry we are not currently accepting comments on this article.
