Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner says he "f***ing hates" the missing child for destroying his life in secretly recorded footage.

The convicted paedophile was captured on camera with a smirk on his face as he climbed into a friend's vehicle, successfully dodging the police officers assigned to monitor his movements.

In the footage, which was allegedly filmed secretly before being shared online, Brueckner complained bitterly about the impact the case has had on him.

He said: "Yes, but Maddie f**** my life, you know, so why should I be sorry? She's f****** my life. The whole time. I can't go out of the street. People think I killed Maddie."

Discussing how he evades the officers tasked with following him, Brueckner said: "They don't know where I am. Because I left the house, jumped in your car, and we go. Otherwise, they would follow me when I walk around or with a bicycle."

When questioned about crossing the German border, he claimed ignorance of what the authorities would do, adding he was uncertain whether his electronic monitoring device would cease to function outside the country.

He also suggested he could remove the tag "if he wants to".

Brueckner flatly denied any connection to Madeleine's disappearance, stating: "Of course not."

However, he then laughed while saying: "I wasn't telling you where I was when Maddie disappeared."

He subsequently remarked: "I've said too much."

Brueckner also launched an attack on German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters, complaining: "I can't believe that he's still working. He destroyed the life of a human."

The convicted sex offender denied carrying out the rape of an American woman for which he served time, claiming he intends to write a book about the case.

He said: "The whole world knows me as a rapist of an old woman, and this was not only a rape, this was really torture. But it wasn't me, and I can prove that it wasn't me. My lawyers, they believe, they know that it wasn't me."

Brueckner questioned whether it was plausible for a paedophile to also attack an elderly woman, asking: "So is it possible, man, I'm a paedophile and I'm raping an old woman?"

Brueckner declared he was "not afraid" of being extradited by British authorities.

He joked about leaving Germany before correcting himself, saying: "No, why would I go when the German government pay my money here?"

The round-the-clock police surveillance of the dangerous sex offender is reportedly coming to an end following a court ruling it was no longer necessary.

German officers have monitored Brueckner continuously since his release from custody last September.

He was freed in September after completing a seven-year prison term for the 2005 rape of a 72-year-old woman in Praia.

German investigators identified him as the main suspect in Madeleine's disappearance and suspected murder in 2020.

Brueckner has consistently maintained he had no involvement with the child's alleged kidnapping in Portugal on May 3, 2007.
