Ulusal Güvenlik Bakanı aşırı sağcı Itamar Ben-Gvir'in Yahudi Gücü (Otzma Yehudit) Partisi'ne mensup olan Wasserlauf’un Yahudilerin Mescid-i Aksa’da ibadet etmesine izin verilmesini istediği belirtilen haberde, İsrailli Bakan'ın "Ben-Gvir’in öncülük ettiği uygulamaları devam ettirmek için" Mescid-i Aksa’ya baskın düzenlenmesi çağrısı yaptığı aktarıldı. İsrail'deki aşırı sağcı örgütler, Mescid-i Aksa'ya baskın düzenlenmesi ve perşembe akşamı Doğu Kudüs'te yapılması planlanan provokatif "Bayrak Yürüyüşü"ne katılma çağrısında bulunuyor. İsrail basınında yer alan haberlere göre yaklaşık 50 bin Filistin topraklarını gasbeden İsrailli, Filistinlilerin ikamet ettiği mahallelere baskın yapacak ve "ırkçı" sloganlar atacak. İsrail polisi, 2003 yılında tek taraflı bir kararla fanatik Yahudilerin cuma ve cumartesi günleri hariç her gün, sabah ve öğle sonrası olmak üzere iki kez Mescid-i Aksa’ya girmesine izin vermişti. Kudüs’teki İslami Vakıflar İdaresi ise bu baskınların durdurulması çağrısını defalarca yineledi ancak İsrail makamlarından bir yanıt alınamadı. Aşırı sağcı siyasetçi İsrail Ulusal Güvenlik Bakanı Itamar Ben-Gvir’in 2022 yılı sonunda göreve başlamasından bu yana, Tel Aviv yönetiminin Aksa'daki ihlalleri arttı. Filistinliler, İsrail’in Doğu Kudüs’ü Yahudileştirmek, buna Mescid-i Aksa da dahil olmak üzere, kentin Arap ve İslami kimliğini silmek amacıyla ihlallerini yoğunlaştırdığını belirtiyor.
