Eylemciler, asker kaçağı Haredilerin İsrail polisi tarafından gözaltına alınmasını protesto etti. Harediler, ülkede askerlikten kaçanlara yönelik gözaltı operasyonlarının bu hafta yeniden başlamasının ardından birçok kentte protesto gösterisi düzenledi. Öte yandan dün Askalan kentinde Haredi öğrencilerin gözaltına alınmasını protesto etmek için toplanan yüzlerce gösterici, askeri polis komutanı Tuğgeneral Yuval Yamin'in evinin duvarlarından atlayarak bahçesine girmişti. İsrail Genelkurmay Başkanı Eyal Zamir'in mart ayında yaptığı açıklamada, asker sayısındaki ciddi eksiklik nedeniyle ordunun zorlandığını ve Haredilerin askere alınmamasının kapasiteyi olumsuz etkilediğini belirtmişti. Yaklaşık 10 milyon nüfuslu İsrail'de Harediler nüfusun yaklaşık yüzde 13'ünü oluşturuyor. Harediler, dini eğitim gerekçesiyle askerlik yapmayı reddediyor.
