Volunteer crews from Rhyl RNLI raced to the scene near Splash Point on Friday evening after receiving reports that a casualty was stuck in the sand and in danger of being overwhelmed by the incoming sea.The alarm was raised shortly before 9pm when HM Coastguard tasked the charity's inshore lifeboat to the incident. As RNLI volunteers launched and headed towards the casualty, they received an urgent update that the rising tide had already reached the person's waist. Coastguard rescue teams and a rescue helicopter were also dispatched amid fears the situation could quickly become life-threatening.
