A man has been sentenced in court after officer's found a stranger's wallet in his kitchen cupboard. Raymond Harry of Heol Glyndwr, Coedpoeth was found guilty of theft following an incident on Friday, March 6, 2026. The stolen wallet and money that was in the wallet was located and recovered from his kitchen area along with the victim's ID. During the search, Harry continued to deny the allegation and tried to prevent officers looking in cupboards - this was despite officers being able to see him trying to hide the wallet, money and ID under other objects within the cupboard. Harry was later interviewed where he again denied the offence of theft claiming he was going to return it despite "lying" to police officers regarding being in possession of it. Raymond Harry has now been sentenced to conditional discharge for two years, to pay the victim compensation of £50 and to pay Crown Prosecution Service costs of £85.00.
