Footage of Casemiro's wife after Man Utd win says it all as U-turn mooted

Casemiro's wife Anna Mariana Casemiro applauded Manchester United fans' chants of "One more year, Casemiro". The Brazilian midfielder is expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of the campaign. The former Real Madrid star had been branded a transfer blunder for several years, with Jamie Carragher famously telling him "leave the football, before the football leaves you." He has now become one of United's most important players just months before his planned departure. Following United's 3-2 victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford, Matheus Cunha appeared to hint his Brazilian compatriot might reverse his decision to exit the club. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers striker said: "you never know" while discussing Casemiro's future. After footage of the midfield enforcer's partner surfaced, numerous supporters now suspect she wants him to remain at the club. She seemed visibly touched by the chants for her husband, who has registered nine Premier League goals and two assists in 33 appearances this campaign. One supporter wrote: "Casemiro's wife and children stayed over after the game was done to sing along with the fans. You can tell if she had her way. Casemiro would stayed with us for one more year, see the emotions she's going through." Casemiro's United and international teammate Cunha appeared to hint that the midfield enforcer might opt to stay at Old Trafford beyond the current campaign. The summer arrival from Wolverhampton Wanderers said: "I play with him in the national team and I know how important he is. "He's an amazing guy. And yeah, to have this guy in the dressing room is a privilege. "We don't know in the end how it is with his contract, and then of course we, everyone, hopes there's a little bit more. Of course, of course, I know it's harder than we talked about, but yeah, in the end, you never know." At the end of April, Carrick was adamant that Casemiro's departure had been mutually agreed upon by both player and club. The United interim manager said: "It's pretty clear – from both sides it's pretty clear the decision. "It's pretty clear, too, how much it means to him [playing for United] and probably the situation and the clarity of the decision has helped ­everything to be understandable for the ­supporters as well. Credit to him because he's given absolutely everything and had some big moments for us, so all round it's quite a nice direction for it to be taken."
