The force received a report at 4.19pm on Sunday that three people had fallen on an escalator in phase one of Shek Lei Shopping Centre, trapping the man. He sustained injuries to his arms and legs and was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital. Photos circulating online show fire services and paramedics at the scene assisting the injured, with the escalator temporarily closed. The same escalator was involved in a similar incident on August 1, when a 75-year-old woman carrying a one-year-old girl lost her balance and fell, landing on a 66-year-old woman and a 72-year-old man standing behind her.
