La marine américaine va commencer à partir de ce lundi 4 mai à escorter des navires bloqués le pays tiers à travers le détroit d'Ormuz, a annoncé dimanche Donald Trump sur sa plateforme Truth Social. "Nous avons informé ces pays que nous guiderons leurs navires en sécurité à travers ces voies navigables", a écrit le président des Etats-Unis, évoquant des bâtiments appartenant à des pays "qui ne sont pas impliqués" dans le conflit en cours avec l'Iran.

Selon le dernier rapport de l'Agence internationale de l'énergie, le secteur a rejeté 124 millions de tonnes en 2025. L'organisme appelle les industriels à capturer ces fuites, une solution qui permettrait de libérer 200 milliards de mètres cubes de gaz par an et de soulager un marché mondial sous tension depuis le début du conflit au Moyen-Orient.
