PSA fraud report shows growing counterfeit activity across all trading card types

Leading grading company Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) reported intercepting an estimated $200 million-plus in fraudulent trading cards and tickets in 2025, according to data released by the company Thursday. PSA, which graded more than 19 million cards in 2025, reported a more than 45 percent increase in counterfeit cards flagged by the company compared to 2024, including a five percent increase in counterfeit sports cards and a 125 percent increase in fake Pokémon cards.Advertisement
