اکسیوس خبر داد که وزارت خارجه آمریکا در ماه دسامبر گذشته، به دلیل نگرانیهای امنیت ملی، معاون نماینده جمهوری اسلامی در سازمان ملل را اخراج کرده است. این تصمیم در آن زمان بهطور محرمانه اتخاذ شده و یکی از دستکم سه مورد اخراج دیپلماتهای ایرانی در نیویورک طی شش ماه گذشته است.
