halkının Büyük Vatanseverlik Savaşı’ndaki zaferinin 81. yıl dönümü dolayısıyla bugün itibarıyla 10 Mayıs’a kadar Rusya tarafından ilan edilen geçici ateşkese yönelik cephedeki gelişmeleri değerlendirdi. Rusya'nın saldırılarını sürdürdüğünü kaydeden Zelenskiy şu ifadeleri kullandı: "Rus ordusu bu gece Ukrayna mevzilerine yönelik saldırılarına devam etti. (Sabah) Saat 07.00 itibarıyla cephedeki mevzilere 140'tan fazla saldırı kaydedildi." Rusların ayrıca cephe hattı ve yakınlarında 850 adet dronla saldırı gerçekleştirdiğini belirten Zelenskiy, "Tüm bunlar, Rus tarafının cephede ateşkes yönünde en ufak bir girişimde bile bulunmadığını açıkça gösteriyor." yorumunu yaptı. Rusya Savunma Bakanlığından yapılan açıklamada, Rusya Devlet Başkanı Vladimir Putin’in talimatı doğrultusunda, Sovyet halkının Büyük Vatanseverlik Savaşı’ndaki zaferinin 81. yıl dönümü dolayısıyla 8 Mayıs’tan 10 Mayıs’a kadar geçici ateşkes ilan edildiği aktarılmıştı. Açıklamada, Kiev yönetiminin Moskova’daki 9 Mayıs Zafer Günü kutlamalarını hedef almaya çalışması durumunda Rus ordusunun Kiev merkezine yönelik "yoğun füze saldırısı" düzenleyeceği uyarısında bulunulmuştu. Bakanlık, Kiev’deki siviller ile yabancı diplomatik temsilcilik çalışanlarına "zamanında şehri terk etmeleri" çağrısı yapmıştı. Ukrayna Devlet Başkanı Zelenskiy ise Rusya'ya yönelik saldırı tehdidinde bulunarak, "Rusya'ya yakın bazı devletlerden, temsilcilerinin Moskova'da olacağına dair çağrılar alıyoruz. Bu, bugünlerde garip bir istektir. Bunu tavsiye etmiyoruz." demişti.
