Iones takımları katılıyor. Mavi Ege-Vaol müsabakasıyla başlayan turnuva, yarınki karşılaşmalarla sona erecek. Festival kapsamında ayrıca şef Berkan Atılgan yönetimindeki İzmir Rebetiko Korosu da konser verecek. Festivali düzenleyen Sakız Adası Homeros Kiralık Odalar, Apartlar ve Turistik Konutlar Derneği Başkanı Giorgos Mylonadis, yaptığı açıklamada, ada ile İzmir arasında kurulan dostluk bağlarının spor ve müzikle pekişeceğini söyledi. Mylonadis, 2 gün boyunca sürecek festivalin çok anlamlı olduğunu belirterek, "İki ülke arasında bizler turizm profesyonelleri, sporcularımız ve sanatçılarımız çok güzel bir sonuç elde etmek için işbirliği yapıyor. Her iki ülke için de her zaman iş birliği yapmak, iyi ilişkiler ve dostluk kurmak çok önemli." dedi. Turnuvaya katılan ekiplerden Mavi Ege Basketbol'un kulüp başkanı Can Ateşler de böyle bir teklife çok sevindiklerini ve katılma kararı aldıklarını aktararak, "Biz kendi yaşantımızdan biliyoruz ki spor gerçekten kaynaştırıcı, bugün 74 yaşındaki bir ağabeyimizle 22 yaşındaki bir kardeşimiz aynı sahada, aynı takım için ter döküyor, bu müthiş bir keyif. Biz de bu keyfin bir parçası olduğumuz için çok mutluyuz." diye konuştu. Vaol Kulübü Asbaşkanı George Paterakis ise organizasyona katılan tüm katılımcılara teşekkür ederek, "Maçlar dost olduğumuzu bir kez daha göstermek için bir fırsat. Bu organizasyon aramızdaki dostluğu artırmak amacıyla düzenleniyor." ifadelerini kullandı.
