Yankees place Giancarlo Stanton on IL. What it could mean for the roster

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Yankees are getting closer to making their first interesting roster decision of the season.New York placed Giancarlo Stanton on the injured list on Monday after an MRI revealed a low-grade calf strain, manager Aaron Boone said. The Yankees can retroactively place Stanton on the IL to April 24, meaning the earliest he is eligible to be activated is May 4.
