Woman wanted after two train passengers are slapped on a late-night service: As police release CCTV image

The force said that the woman approached two other women who were travelling together at around 11.40pm at Preston station on Saturday and slapped them both before fleeing. A CCTV image of a woman who officers want to speak to as part of their investigation has been released by British Transport Police (BTP). A spokesperson for BTP said: 'Officers investigating an assault on board a train in Preston have released this image in connection. 'At around 11.40pm on Saturday 20 June, as the service pulled into Preston station, a woman approached two other women who were travelling together and slapped them both before leaving the train. Police want to speak to this woman pictured after two other woman were slapped at Preston station 'Officers would like to speak to the woman pictured, as they believe she may have information which could help their investigation. 'Anyone who recognises her is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 27 of 21 June. 'Information can also be given to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.'
