Published: 02:58, 14 May 2026 | Updated: 03:19, 14 May 2026 A woman wearing a dressing gown and thongs has been hauled out of her home by heavily armed-cops and charged with conspiracy to murder a high-profile rapper following a spate of shootings across Sydney. Rebekah Hansell, 23, was arrested during an early morning raid at her house in Whalan, in Sydney's west, on Wednesday after police linked an armed interception on the M4 Motorway last month to four public place shootings. Police allege Hansell helped coordinate serious organised crimes including shootings, conspiracy to murder, firearm offences and staging vehicles. In footage released by NSW Police of her arrest, Hansell can be seen being searched by a female officer after tactical officers rammed down her front door. Hansell, wearing pink pyjamas and and a grey dressing gown with bow ties on it, was then escorted to a police wagon and cuffed. Her heavily manicured nails were on show as officers removed her many rings and jewellery before she was told to sit in the back of the paddy wagon. Hansell was then taken to Mount Druitt Police Station and later charged with conspire and agree to murder any person and participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity. A white Mitsubishi Lancer was also seized from the property and is understood to have been taken for forensic testing.  Rebekah Hansell was arrested during an early morning raid at her home in Whalan, in Sydney's west, on Wednesday morning Police allege she helped coordinate a range of serious organised crimes including shootings It's understood Hansell was charged over the alleged plot to kill rapper Ali 'Ay Huncho' Younes The Daily Telegraph reports Hansell was charged over the alleged plot to murder rapper and alleged Alameddine crime clan associate Ali 'Ay Huncho' Younes, in Wentworthville on April 11. In a statement to media, NSW Police said the investigation began that day when an allegedly stolen Audi was rammed by police in Lidcombe after efforts to stop the car on the Great Western Highway failed. 'During the pursuit the occupants of the vehicle were seen allegedly throwing jerry cans from the vehicle onto the M4 Motorway, near Silverwater,' the statement read. 'The vehicle stopped after it was rammed, after which the three men ran from the vehicle. 'Police – with the assistance from officers attached to PolAir, Dog Squad and Auburn Police Area Command – arrested all three men nearby after a foot pursuit.' During a search of the car, police allegedly found a semi-automatic rifle, a pistol, and cloned number plates which they seized for forensic examination. Investigators allege they then established a link between the vehicle and plates, to four public place shootings in Colyton, St Johns Park and Panania earlier this year. The three men – one aged 28 and two aged 24 – were charged and remain before the courts. The investigation began on April 11 when police rammed an allegedly stolen Audi that allegedly contained a semi-automatic rifle, a pistol, and cloned number plates Hansell was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court on Thursday. Police said investigations are ongoing.  Sorry we are not currently accepting comments on this article.
