Woman, 23, is charged with murder after man in his 40s died 'following assault' in Southampton

By SOPHIA STANFORD, NEWS REPORTER Published: 21:37, 11 August 2026 | Updated: 21:41, 11 August 2026 A 23-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a man following an alleged assault. Katie Linin was arrested after officers received reports of an alleged assault at the man's address in Southampton in the early hours of Sunday morning. Craig Wesley Mintram, 45, was found at the property by officers at around 4.20am, but was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr Mintram's family have been notified of his passing and are receiving support from specially trained officers.  Katie Linin, 23, has been charged with the murder of Craig Wesley Mintram, 45, and will appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court (pictured) A 54-year-old man from Southampton was also arrested in connection with the incident, Hampshire Police confirmed. However, he has been released from custody and there will be no further action to be taken against him.  Linin, of Eldon Place, Bournemouth, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning.
