Emergency services responded to the scene near Langar Airfield in Nottinghamshire at 12.13pm.
The 22-year-old was found in a nearby field and pronounced dead at the scene, Nottinghamshire Police said.
Skydive Langar, a skydiving centre that operates at the site, said: "We are deeply saddened to confirm that a fatal incident occurred at our centre today involving an experienced skydiver.

The centre is now fully cooperating with police and have asked for privacy after the incident.
Her family has been informed and will be supported by officers.
The force said no other individuals were hurt in the incident.
Detective Inspector Rachel Mayfield said: "This was a tragic incident, and we are working with partners to understand what happened.
"As our investigations continue at the scene, our thoughts are with the woman's family and everyone else who has been affected by this incident."
A file is now being prepared for the coroner, the force said.

A spokesman from the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the scene to assist police.
Pictures from the scene showed at least three police cars outside the airfield.
Langar Airfield is located around 18 kilometres from Nottingham and was first opened in 1942.
The site had been used by the RAF and US Air Force during the Second World War.
After the Second World War it was operated by the Royal Canadian Air Force.
The skydiving centre has said it is the busiest in Britain.
It operates more than 50,000 jumps annually from its fleet of three turbine-powered aircraft, including two Grand Caravans and one Cessna standard Caravan.
Anyone with additional information is urged to contact police.
