Winners Boycott FUS Match, Slam Ticket Prices and Crowd Limits
The “Winners 2005” ultras group, supporters of Wydad Athletic Club (WAC), have announced a boycott of their team’s match against Fath Union Sports (FUS) Rabat, scheduled for Friday evening at Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, as part of a postponed fixture from matchday 10 of the 2025/26 Botola Pro D1 (Morocco’s professional league) season.of the 2025/26 Botola Pro D1 (Morocco’s professional league) season.
In an official statement, the group denounced what it described as the return of “repressive measures” targeting fans and restricting their freedom of movement. While the term “away fan ban” is no longer openly used, the ultras argued that limiting visiting supporters to just 5% of stadium capacity effectively serves the same purpose.
The group also criticized the management of fan attendance in Rabat, claiming that decisions go beyond club authority and are imposed by local officials, making access to stadiums increasingly difficult. They questioned the justification for such restrictions in a city that recently welcomed Moroccan fans from across the country during national team matches.
High-priced tickets
Ticket pricing was another key issue raised, with “Winners 2005” arguing that rising costs fail to consider the purchasing power of ordinary supporters and reflect a growing trend toward the commercialization of football at the expense of its popular roots.
The ultras further revealed they were unable to obtain tickets after they were released online, which ultimately led to the decision to boycott the match.
Despite the boycott, the group urged Wydad players to secure a victory following their recent continental setback in order to regain momentum and continue the fight for the top spot in the league standings.
