Wimbledon school crash driver's trial set for 2027Image source, PA MediaImage caption, Claire Freemantle faces multiple charges following the deaths of two young girlsPublished22 minutes agoThe driver of a car which crashed into the grounds of a school in Wimbledon killing two eight-year-old girls will stand trial in September next year.Nuria Sajjad and Selena Lau were struck by the Land Rover driven by Claire Freemantle which crashed into an end-of-term tea party on the lawn of The Study Preparatory School in south-west London on 6 July 2023.Freemantle, 49, of Edge Hill, Wimbledon, faces two charges of causing death by dangerous driving and seven counts of causing serious injury to other parents and children.She appeared at the Old Bailey earlier and spoke to confirm her identity. She was not asked to enter any pleas.
