Will France ban Kanye West's concert in Marseille?
ALBAWABA - Unconfirmed reports emerged on social media that France is planning to ban Kanye West's concert in the city of Marseille.
AFP reported on Tuesday that a French minister is seekikng to ban American rapper Kanye West's concert planned in Marseille.
The American rapper is due to give a concert on June 11 in the city of Marseille. The concert is organized by the agency Mars360, exclusive operator of the Orange Vélodrome, an iconic stadium in Marseille.
A month ago, the Mayor of Marseille, a city in southeastern France, revealed that the city opposes the arrival of American rapper Kanye West after his anti-Semitic remarks.
"I refuse to let Marseille be a showcase for those who promote hatred and unashamed Nazism. Kanye West is not welcome at the Vélodrome, our temple of living together and of all Marseillais," Benoît Payan, the current mayor (left) and candidate for his succession in France's second largest city, posted on X.
