Steph Chambers / Imagn Images Share article7DALLAS – Minnesota Wild winger Yakov Trenin, the NHL’s hit leader during the regular season with a team record 413, was injured with 5 minutes, 13 seconds left in the first period Monday night in Game 2 of Minnesota’s playoff series with the Dallas Stars. Trenin was caught in the neutral zone waiting to receive a pass from defenseman Zach Bogosian. Facing the other way, Trenin was crushed with a perfectly-timed open-ice hit by Dallas’ Colin Blackwell the moment the pass reached him. It was a shoulder-to-shoulder check, one that left Trenin down on the ice for several moments. Athletic trainer John Worley helped him to the locker room with a towel over his face.
