Wild notebook: Lineup options ahead of Game 3, the gutsy challenge, PP adjustments, more

MINNEAPOLIS — John Hynes didn’t offer medical updates on injured forwards Mats Zuccarello and Yakov Trenin after the Minnesota Wild landed Tuesday afternoon, but the coaches were discussing lineup options in case either, or both, can’t play in Game 3.Zuccarello didn’t play Game 2 because of an elbow he took to the face early in Game 1 from Stars defenseman Tyler Myers. He hasn’t officially been diagnosed with a concussion, according to a team source, but wasn’t feeling right after Monday’s pregame skate. Trenin was hurt with five minutes left in Game 2 when teammate Zach Bogosian dished him the epitome of a “hospital pass” in the neutral zone and Colin Blackwell nailed him with a clean, perfectly timed check that left him with at least a cut on his nose after Blackwell’s visor hit him.Bobby Brink replaced Zuccarello.
