Published: 03:51, 2 June 2026 | Updated: 03:54, 2 June 2026 A mystery gunman who recorded himself firing a round of bullets into a home before fleeing the scene in Land Rover remains on the run.  Victoria Police say three shots were fired at a house on Elmwood Place in Craigieburn, about 25km north of Melbourne, about 1pm on October 24. In CCTV footage, the man - dressed in all-black and wearing a balaclava - is seen hopping out of a black Land Rover.  With a handgun in one hand and a phone in the other, the man films himself firing three shots before jumping back in the luxury vehicle and driving away.  No one was inside the home at the time and the incident was not reported until January, meaning ballistic analysis was not possible at the scene. Senior Constable Mitchell Jones said it could have ended badly.  'There are plenty of people at their home, or are going home or staying home,' he said. 'I would describe it as reckless.'  Police believe the targeted shooting was intended as a threat.  A mystery gunman who recorded himself firing bullets into a Melbourne home before hopping into a Land Rover and driving away remains on the run. Const Jones said police hadn't obtained the video recorded by the shooter.  The car was unable to be identified due to the low quality of the CCTV footage.  Const Jones said residents were 'quite shocked and concerned' by the targeted attack, but had been assisting police.  Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident.  No comments have so far been submitted.
