Who is Hamideh Soleimani Afshar? ICE arrests niece of former IRGC commander

ALBAWABA - Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter, who are the niece and granddaughter of former IRGC commander Qassem Soleimani, were recently arrested in the US by ICE (United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement) for being outspoken in favor of the Iranian regime.

According to Marco Rubio on X (formerly Twitter), both Hamideh and her daughter were Green Card holders living a luxurious life in Los Angeles before being terminated by the Secretary of State and detained by ICE. 

Rubio also accused Hamideh Soleimani Afshar of celebrating "attacks on Americans" and referring to the US as the "Great Satan." Additionally, they reportedly promoted Iranian regime propaganda and praised the Supreme Leader.

He wrote, "This week, I terminated both Afshar and her daughter's legal status and they are now in ICE custody, pending removal from the United States. The Trump Administration will not allow our country to become a home for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes."

According to several reports, Hamideh was granted asylum in 2019 and received a green card under the Biden administration in 2021. Her daughter, Sarin Sadat Hosseini, entered the US in 2015 on a student visa and later became a green card holder. 

The New York Post said that Sarin Sadat Hosseini's Instagram account had been deleted by the time of reporting, featuring lavish lifestyle activities such as visits to a nightclub in Miami, trips to Alaska, and celebrations in Las Vegas.
