Neil Oliver has spoken to former Royal Navy Commodore Steve Jermy about what a direct conflict between Britain and Russia could mean for the country.
The former naval commander warned a war with Moscow would extend far beyond the battlefield, with Britain potentially facing significant “profound damage” to everyday life.
Mr Jermy highlighted the vulnerability of Britain’s critical infrastructure and the risk of an adversary targeting the systems the public relies on.
Therefore, the former commander warned the UK would need to prepare for disruption to communications and other forms of pressure designed to undermine the country without necessarily involving a conventional invasion.
Speaking to the GB News contributor, Mr Jermy stressed the importance of understanding the scale of the threat and ensuring Britain has the military capability and resilience needed to withstand a major conflict.
The interview comes amid growing concern over the prospect of confrontation between Russia and Nato, with numerous standoffs between the Russian navy and British vessels just a few miles from the coasts of the UK in recent weeks.
