A huge breakthrough was made in EastEnders tonight amid the search for a potential stem cell donor for Denise Fox (Diane Parish), who was put into a coma to fight off an infection.
Denise, who has a particularly aggressive form of blood cancer, was told that her recent chest infection has turned into sepsis and thus to give her the best chance of survival, she must be put on a ventilator.
Fearing she might not wake up, Denise asked Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) to sort out practicalities such as the music at her funeral and the location of her will, telling her husband just how much she loves him.
Back in Walford, the search was on to find a donor and Kim was bowled over upon making a discovery via an ancestry website, which confirmed that Denise has a half-brother.
She notified Jack, who cried tears of joy, hoping this will prove to be the breakthrough they need to save Denise’s life.
Elsewhere on the Square this evening, Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) sought help from Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) to find out who the father of her unborn baby is.
Following a truly emotional cliffhanger, you might find yourself eager to know what comes next and if you simply cannot wait then here’s what’s in store for tomorrow’s (Tuesday, August 25) episode.
Hope for Denise as Darnell is found
Following Kim’s breakthrough, the Fox-Trueman clan band together to track down Darnell (Christopher Colquhoun). Aware that time is of the essence, Jack decides to take matters into his own hands – but just what does he do?
You’ll just have to wait and see for yourself but little does he know that Kim has already managed to make contact with Darnell, who agrees to meet up.
However, Darnell doesn’t know why he’s been contacted and thus when he finds out about Denise’s illness, he’s left reeling. Despite his reservations, Darnell agrees to visit – but the experience overwhelms him and he makes a swift exit the hospital.
Will Kim and Jack be able to convince him to help?
Amy faces rejection – and goes to Craig
Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) and Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) have been growing closer as of late and, after putting Denzel’s moment with Avani (Aaliyah James) behind them, it’s looking like they’re finally back on the same page.
Denzel, however, receives a warning from Howie (Delroy Atkinson) over asking Amy out and thus, when Amy makes a move on him later that day, the teen rejects her.
Feeling hurt and heartbroken, Amy crosses paths with Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) and agrees to a subsequent meeting with him.
With Craig having recently been suspended from he force for gross misconduct after a series of allegations were made against him, is Amy in danger?
Elsewhere in the Square…
Suki and Eve Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal and Heather Peace) are left devastated when they’re informed that Ria’s mum could be looking to seek custody.
Suki in particular struggles with the news and this leads to conflict with her and Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) over Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) and the baby.
Over at The Vic, Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) is worried when he sees footage from Bert and Ernie’s school project as Kat (Jessie Wallace) is left upset.
Can he help?
