West Brom deducted two points by EFL after financial regulation breach

West Bromwich Albion have been docked two points for breaching the English Football League’s (EFL) profitability and sustainability rules (PSR).The sanction sees them drop from 18th to 20th in the Championship, six points clear of relegation, with two games to play.The fast-tracked decision, which was made by the EFL’s independent Club Financial Review Panel on Friday, confirms Leicester City’s relegation to League One and means Oxford United, currently third from bottom on 44 points, will need to win their remaining games against Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall to have any chance of catching either Charlton Athletic or West Brom, who are tied on 50 points.Advertisement
