The trio were known for blending the UK garage sound popular at the time with R&B melodies, scoring hits such as Why, Scandalous and One Night Stand.Rumours of a possible reunion gained momentum in recent weeks, and on Friday the group confirmed they will play the Ovo Arena in Wembley to mark 25 years since the release of their album Lickin' On Both Sides. "We can't wait to relive the magic and energy of that record and many more, with the very people who made it so special," said singer and rapper Alesha Dixon. Referencing the lyrics from one of her most memorable raps, Dixon added: "I'm also excited for my daughters 'the Mis-Teeq babies' to see us coming back strong!" The concert, which takes place on 12 September, is advertised as a "One Night Stand with Mis-Teeq". It's not yet known whether that means the show is a one-off, or will be part of a wider comeback with other tour dates and new music.The confirmation comes after weeks of speculation. Last month, fans noticed a verified Instagram account had been created for the group, which began posting old interview and music video clips. On Friday, that account officially announced the trio's return with a video showing the three singers travelling to Wembley by motorbike - a reference to their debut album cover.
