WATCH: Tories are 'determined' to get Britain 'back on her feet again', says Helen Whately
المصدر: GB News | Source: GB NewsConservative MP Helen Whatley has claimed that the Tory party is ready to "get Britain back on her feet and working again" after making "progress" at the local elections last week.
She told GB News: "I'm sorry that we lost really good Conservative councillors around the country, but actually we made progress, particularly compared to what would have happened if those elections had been a year ago.
"Under Kemi Badenoch, she is rebuilding the party, and actually what we saw is we made gains in places like Westminster and Wandsworth and we held on to councils, places like Bromley and Bexley, which Reform thought they had in the bag.
"So actually we're making progress. We are rebuilding. But yes, we know it will take time. And one of the things we know we need to do is we need to set out how we have changed and how we have learnt the lessons.
"We are setting out how we will actually do those things so people know that under us and with Kemi Badenoch, you will have something different and a party that is determined to get Britain back on her feet and working again."
