Movie World in Australia broke down on Wednesday.‌The ride was making its way up a steep incline on a routine run at the park when it came to a dramatic halt, just before it was due to plunge down a terrifying drop on the other side.Staff from the Movie World park were forced to clamber up the roasting metal coaster and walk each passenger off the ride one by one.‌The breakdown occurred at around 1pm and it took more than two hours to get the riders down in an agonisingly slow rescue operation.Riders stuck in the stalled coaster were given umbrellas to keep the sun off them while they waited for their turn to be led to safety.A spokesperson for Village Roadshow Theme Parks, which operates the ride, said the issue had been cased by a sensor on the ride activating in error.Article continues belowThey said: “All guests are safe and we are currently exiting them from the safe stop zones.“At all times throughout the stoppage, the guests on board were safe and our team were in constant communication with them.This is a Breaking News story.
