Visa, Zazu, and Chari Launch Morocco’s First 100% Digital Business Account for SMEs
Casablanca – Visa has teamed up with Moroccan fintech Zazu to launch what the companies describe as the country’s first fully online professional account for entrepreneurs and small businesses, marking a new push into digital banking services tailored to SMEs.
The new offer allows entrepreneurs to open a business account in 10 minutes through a fully digital process, avoiding the paperwork and delays that still define many traditional banking procedures in Morocco.
According to the three companies, more than 300 professional accounts had already been opened before the public launch, with early clients including Jobzyn, Auto24, Yakeey, and Votre Chauffeur.ma.
The rollout is built on a three-way strategic partnership involving Visa, Zazu, and Chari, the Moroccan fintech infrastructure company that provides the technological backbone, payment license access, and local market expertise behind the service. A pre-seed funding round backed by international investors also helped support the launch.
Zazu said the platform combines several tools in one app aimed at easing day-to-day financial management for founders and SMEs.
These include integrated invoicing that lets users create and send invoices in less than a minute, payment links designed to accelerate collections without sharing bank account details, and real-time expense tracking with customizable team roles and permissions.
Visa Business cards for entire teams are also expected to be introduced progressively in the coming weeks.

The startup says it is targeting a long-standing gap in Morocco’s banking market, where opening a professional account can still take weeks and often involves manual procedures, unclear fees, and interfaces that are difficult for fast-moving businesses to use.
Co-founder Germain Bahri said too many entrepreneurs still lose time chasing advisors, dealing with overly complex systems, or disputing unexpected charges.
Founded in 2024 by former Solarisbank executives Rinse Jacobs and Germain Bahri, Zazu is already active in South Africa and says Morocco is a natural next step in its broader pan-African expansion.
The company is backed by Plug and Play, Bell Ventures, and Ryad Ventures, along with angel investors linked to Solarisbank, Qonto, and Paymentology, as well as Moroccan ecosystem figures including Chari founder Ismael Belkhayat.
The partnership was unveiled during GITEX Africa 2026 in Marrakech, as Morocco continues to position itself as the leading francophone tech hub in North Africa.
Zazu says the local market’s mature banking infrastructure, combined with the lack of a fully digital and locally built SME banking tool, created the opening it now hopes to fill.
