Officers were called to Karangi Road, in the western Sydney suburb of Whalan about 2.40am on Wednesday after reports of a home invasion. Four men forced their way into the property with a hammer and firearm, police were told, but fled in a black Mercedes SUV before authorities arrived. No one was injured during the break-in. About 12 hours later, detectives found two men moving items from a black Mercedes SUV into a Hyundai hatchback in a garage on Lissanthe Street in Marsden Park. The hatchback drove away from the home but was stopped by Strike Force Duncan officers and heavily-armed Raptor Squad members on Richmond Road. Police said they found a pump-action shotgun, ammunition, jerry cans of fuel, three sledgehammers, four baseball bats, duct tape, cable ties, and pillowcases after searching the vehicle. A man from Blackett and one from Coyton, both aged 22, were arrested and charged with four offences each.
