Vanessa Trump announces breast cancer diagnosis: 'I'm staying focused and hopeful'

LEPORE, US SENIOR REPORTER Published: 23:27, 20 May 2026 | Updated: 23:59, 20 May 2026 Vanessa Trump announced that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and was 'working closely' with doctors on a treatment plan.  Trump, 48, is the ex-wife of President Donald Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. They have five children together.  Vanessa - who is dating golf legend Tiger Woods - made the admission in a post to Instagram Wednesday, saying she had undergone 'a procedure earlier this week.'  'I want to share a personal health update. I've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn't news anyone expects, I'm working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,' she said. Trump added that she was grateful to her doctors for performing the procedure.  'I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids and those closest to me. Thank you for your kindness and support, it truly means more than I can express.' Police reportedly found prescription opioid pills in his possession at the time of the arrest, which he had been using to manage chronic injury pain. Woods has pleaded not guilty to DUI. Woods left rehab early to attend the graduation ceremony for Trump's eldest daughter, 19-year-old fellow golfer Kai.   And despite his arrest and rehab trip, a source has told People that she remains head over heels for Tiger. 'Vanessa and Tiger are in love, still serious, and happy to see each other,' the insider is quoted as saying. '[She] is eager to help him continue with his progress and move beyond any more public scandals — which they both dislike intensely.' A week after his the incident, she shared a loved-up photo of them together on Instagram and wrote: 'Love you'.  Nevertheless, the Daily Mail later confirmed that Vanessa was adamant Woods needed thorough professional help and wouldn't stand for history repeating itself once more. Vanessa has five children with the son of the president in Kai, 19; Donald, 17; Tristan, 14; Spencer, 13; and Chloe, 11.  In recent weeks, Vanessa and Kai have been seen posing for photos at both her daughter's birthday and her final prom.   The couple said 'I do' in front of family and friends at the Trump family's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach in 2005. They separated in 2018.
