Utah unveils the 'Zammoth,' a Mammoth-themed Zamboni based on 2002 Olympic ice resurfacer

The ice surface at the Delta Center will be getting a prehistoric polish between periods for the remainder of the season. Utah unveiled its new, woolly mammoth-shaped Zamboni ahead of Tuesday’s tilt against Edmonton.The “Zammoth,” as the team is calling it, is made of Salt Lake City history. The base for the vehicle is built from the Zamboni used in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. The Mammoth host Nashville in a battle of prehistoric beasts on Thursday and Carolina on Saturday. They wrap up the regular season with a two-game homestand against Winnipeg and St. Louis on April 14 and 16.Utah is also on track to host its first playoff games in its short franchise history. The team currently sits in the top wild-card spot in the Western Conference with 86 points, four points above the playoff cutline.
