He will focus on the tournament before deciding his future if and when further bids arrive, sources add. Lyon finished fourth in Ligue 1 this season, which puts the club in the third qualifying round for the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League. That round is due to commence in the first week of August, some two weeks following the conclusion of the World Cup. Tessmann, an Alabama native, is a product of the FC Dallas academy, following a pathway of development that includes fellow U.S. international teammates Weston McKennie, Chris Richards, Ricardo Pepi and more.
