Urgent recall for popular Dunelm item, kids' toys and 8 million travel mugs — full list

A number of urgent product recall notices have been issued this week for popular products. Customers have been urged to stop using the affected items, as they may pose a health risk. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued a number of recall notices, including major UK stores such as Dunelm, Asda and Sainsbury's . Affected items include doorstops, children's craft kits and thermal mugs. Many of the items may contain asbestos, which is a banned substance that can come with a serious health risk. Disposal instructions have been laid out by the OPSS and retailers. Twenty-seven doorstops sold between 2019 and 2026 have been recalled from the homeware store due to a safety issue. Dunelm said: "These products were sold online and in stores between January 2019 and February 2026. "We have identified a safety and non-compliance issue with the doorstops. The sand sealed within the product may be contaminated with a small quantity of asbestos. Asbestos is a banned substance because it poses a risk to health even at low levels of exposure." Anyone with the doorstops has been urged to stop using them and dispose of them in a heavy-duty plastic bag. If the product is damaged, gather the sand using wet cloths to avoid generating dust. Wear gloves and a mask. Double-bag the sand and the rest of the product in a heavy-duty plastic bag, double-tape it securely, along with the gloves, mask and cloths. Dispose of the sealed bag or return it to Dunelm for a full refund. Both items present a risk to health as sand in the kits may be contaminated with asbestos. The Touchy Feely Craft Box is described as a colourful box containing various craft items. It was sold by retailers including Asda , Bargainmax, CJS Trade Limited, Cloud Nine Boutique Ltd, Geeantee Wholesale, Sainsbury’s, Scottish Midland Cooperative, and The Works. Meanwhile, the Discovery Craft Box was sold by retailers including Asda, BargainMax, CJS Trade Limited, Sainsbury’s, Scottish Midland Co-Operative, The Works, and Vape-Superstore Limited. The OPSS added: "We recommend owners stop using this product immediately and keep it out of the reach of children." The US Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the alert, which warned that a dangerous fault could cause the travel mug's lid stopper to violently eject when opened. According to safety officials, when opened, pressure can build up inside the container, which, in turn, forces the stopper out with significant force. The recall affects two popular product ranges: Stainless King food jars and Sportsman food and beverage bottles. In total, around 5.8 million food jars and 2.3 million bottles are impacted.
