A popular visitor attraction that has made so many special memories for so many families for decades was put on the market in January 2025 with Christie and Co for £4.5m, but with a price drop to a guide price of £3,999,950 in the autumn of last year. The business was established in 1994 by a couple who developed the site to become a family favourite with indoor and outdoor activities and visitor facilities and, of course, dinosaurs - more than 90 by the time the park located near Tenby was placed on the market. The park features 36 rides and activities, a woodland trail, and a guided walking safari with animatronic dinosaurs but due to the owners' planned retirement the site was looking for a new owner for the very first time. The Dinosaur Park also accommodates educational school visits year-round, complementing National Curriculum teaching about dinosaurs. Situated about 2.5 miles from Tenby in South Wales, the attraction enjoys the advantages of being positioned in a tourist hotspot and serves as a favoured choice for family holidays and day trips. Specialist commercial property consultant Christie & Co has confirmed the acquisition of The Dinosaur Park by Magic Entertainment Partners. A spokesperson for the company stated: "We were attracted by the strength of the business, the quality of the attraction, and the opportunity to build on an already successful foundation. Our goal is to invest in the guest experience, introduce new attractions over time, and continue establishing The Dinosaur Park as one of the leading family attractions in Wales. "We are delighted that Barry Clegg MBE will be joining the business as general manager, bringing significant experience from the UK attractions industry. Most importantly, we want to build on the legacy that Simon and Amanda have created and ensure the park continues to thrive for future generations." Following more than 30 years of ownership, Simon and Amanda have chosen to sell the attraction as they look to begin and enjoy their retirement. The couple said: "We have become the dinosaurs, so it is time for us to hang our boots up. We hope we have given many families days out to remember over the years." Dave Morris, regional director of retail and leisure at Christie & Co, commented: "It's not every day we get a call to sell a Dinosaur Park, but once there, we realised what a fantastic visitor attraction Amanda and Simon had created. "It is such a beautiful part of Wales and a great business, and we were confident that it would attract a buyer. The team at Magic Entertainment Partners were the successful buyers and have a background in amusement parks in the UK, America and Spain. They hope to further develop the park and attractions to take it to the next level." The purchaser secured financing through Christie Finance, with funds supplied by Development Bank of Wales. Ashley Clements, associate director at Christie Finance, remarked: "It was a pleasure to support the buyer by sourcing funding for this acquisition. I am confident they will be excellent successors to the incumbent owners and wish them every success in this venture."
