Rabat – Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and Royale Marocaine d’Assurance (RMA) have entered a new phase of cooperation after signing a memorandum of understanding on April 8 in Casablanca, with a shared objective to rethink how innovation and talent feed into the insurance sector.
The agreement sets out a practical framework that connects academic work with industry needs. Rather than remain at the level of theory, the two institutions aim to confront real constraints faced by insurance operators and develop responses that can move into implementation.
At the core of the partnership stands a dedicated InsurTech program led by UM6P’s Open Innovation Hub.
The initiative will identify emerging startups whose solutions correspond to RMA’s priorities, then place them in direct contact with the company’s teams.
This approach allows ideas to move quickly from concept to testing, with the possibility of co-developing tools adapted to market realities.
The partnership also places strong attention on training. Students and young professionals will gain access to mentoring, internships, and hands-on projects, particularly in artificial intelligence.
The main objective is to equip future talent with skills that match current transformations in the sector, while offering them direct exposure to professional environments.
Through this collaboration, UM6P and RMA seek to narrow the gap between research and application, while contributing to a more dynamic ecosystem where startups, students, and industry actors operate within the same space.
The initiative reflects a wider direction in Morocco, where institutions and private actors seek to anchor innovation within concrete economic sectors rather than treat it as a standalone ambition.
