Ugly war erupts in Jersey Mike's store after woman asked for birthday discount and manager started cursing at her

Published: 14:25, 14 July 2026 | Updated: 14:31, 14 July 2026 A Jersey Mike's customer has accused employees of turning what was meant to be a birthday celebration into a humiliating confrontation after she asked to redeem a discount.  Customer Miesha, who was marking her special day, said she was left stunned by the heated exchange with staff at the sandwich chain's Baltimore location on Sunday, prompting her to pull out her phone and record the incident.  In a caption alongside the footage, Miesha claimed the birthday discount had been offered through Jersey Mike's mobile app, but said her attempt to redeem it quickly spiraled into an explosive confrontation with employees.  The customer described the experience as 'utterly disgusting,' saying the incident overshadowed what was supposed to be a special occasion. 'Instead of being treated with respect, I was insulted and humiliated,' she wrote on Instagram. In the video, one male employee who identified himself on camera as 'David' could be seen aggressively mouthing 'Get the f**k out' before sarcastically adding, 'Please and thank you.' Miesha fired back with equal hostility, saying 'don't try and be nice now, watch you lose your job.' However, the brawl swiftly escalated after she requested a receipt from her purchase. A Jersey Mike's customer claims they were ruthlessly mocked, called 'broke' and told to 'get the f**k out' after attempting to redeem a complimentary birthday reward at one of the chain's Baltimore branches Miesha shared a screenshot of the offer and told followers that redeeming the reward was 'actively encouraged'  Calling the alleged treatment 'completely unacceptable,' Miesha said she left feeling 'embarrassed, humiliated and disrespected' and announced that she intends to pursue legal action The staffer dismissively responded declaring he 'doesn’t remember faces' before hurling a barrage of expletives at the customer. He went on to bash her as 'broke' and telling her to 'f*** off' repeatedly, eliciting a laugh from another man behind the counter. 'F*** your birthday,' David then announced, striding up and down whilst throwing his hands in the air in irritation. The customer also alleged the tense confrontation unfolded in front of other diners inside the restaurant, prompting several customers to leave as a result. 'No customer should have to experience this in an establishment that is supposed to be welcoming and provide good customer service,' she said after the incident. 'I visited other businesses on my birthday and had no issues redeeming my birthday offers or being treated with courtesy,' Miesha said, noting she had frequented Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts and Sephora that day. The woman said the incident at Jersey Mike's was the only negative experience she had during the day, describing the exhibited behavior from the workers as 'completely unacceptable.' The Instagram post directly tagged Jersey Mike's and identified the Baltimore restaurant where the alleged incident took place, urging others to share the post and bring it to the company’s attention. The customer also claimed she intends to pursue legal action over the confrontation. The customer added that she had had similar birthday offers from other brands that she was able to redeem without having to endure the same verbal abuse The customer has also claimed she intends to pursue legal action over the exchange The post has since racked up significant attention online, with users weighing in on the allegations and debating how businesses should handle customer complaints and conduct loyalty rewards.  Others expressed sympathy for the customer and called on Jersey Mike’s to investigate the claims. Jersey Mikes has yet to publicly speak out on the ordeal, however, according to a screenshot from Miesha's recent social media post, the company has been in touch to remedy the situation.
