The incident took place in Larkhall, southeast of Glasgow at about 2:10pm yesterday.
Both male officers, aged 43 and 41, have been taken to hospital.
The 41-year-old has since been released, while the 43-year-old continues to receive treatment.

Police have called the attack an attempted murder.
No others were injured in the incident.
The van used in the ramming was later recovered in Kirkstyle Place, Glassford.
Detective Inspector Gary Smillie said: "This was a deliberate and despicable attack on two officers who were simply carrying out their duties."
Police have appealed for information while the investigation continues.
The suspect was described as a 6ft tall white male.

He was wearing dark shorts, a grey jumper and a beige baseball cap.
Larkhall is located about 14 miles southeast of Glasgow.
It is a historic commuter town in South Lanarkshire.
The town is situated on high ground between the River Clyde and the Avon Water.
Larkhall is home to the Larkhall Viaduct, also known as the Morgan Glen Viaduct.
It stands at 53.3 metres (175 feet) and is the highest railway bridge in Scotland.
