Emergency services were called to a home in Seaview Crescent, Tweed Heads, shortly after 2am on Saturday, after reports of an alleged assault 800m away. Police were told that a 34-year-old man had allegedly been assaulted by a man known to him in The Hermitage in Tweed Heads South. The seriously injured man was then allegedly driven by a woman known to him to his Seaview Crescent home and left on the driveway. The man died at the scene, despite the efforts of paramedics. A short time later, police returned to The Hermitage cul-de-sac, where they arrested a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman. Crime scenes were established at both locations, as detectives launched an investigation. The man was later charged with murder (DV) and refused bail to face Bail Division Local Court 1 on Sunday. Police will allege the woman supplied false information about the assault to officers. 'It’s a serious matter and someone has lost their life, we will be looking at all lines of inquiry.'
