Yıldız, AA muhabirine yaptığı açıklamada, Türkiye Kaykay Federasyonu'nun 2017 yılında kurulduğunun anımsattı. Yıldız, 2 yıl önce göreve geldiklerini hatırlatarak "Göreve geldiğimiz seçimde 4 şehirden 9 kulüp oy kullanabilmişti. Sayımız sadece bu kadardı. Şu anda ise aktif olarak 189 kulübümüz bulunuyor. Bunların 95'i paten, 94'ü ise kaykay kulübü. 2 bini aktif olmak üzere 4 binin üzerinde lisanslı sporcumuz var. Kayseri'de 850 aktif kaykay ve paten sporcumuz bulunuyor. Aktif sporcuların neredeyse yarısı Kayseri'den." diye konuştu. Yıldız, kaykay ve paten sporuna ilginin her geçen gün arttığına dikkati çekerek, bu branşların Tokyo ve Paris olimpiyatlarında olimpik branş olarak yer aldığını hatırlattı. Her iki branşta da milli takım düzeyinde iyi gelişmeler yaşandığının altını çizen Yıldız, şunları söyledi: “Patende geçen hafta Almanya'da düzenlenen uluslararası organizasyona milli takım olarak katıldık. Kaykayda olimpiyat süreci başladı. Haziran ayında İtalya'nın başkenti Roma'da dünya şampiyonası yapılacak. Park ve sokak disiplininde de oraya katılacağız. Burası kota almak için çok önemli bir organizasyon. 2028'deki olimpiyatlara gidebilmek için burada iyi bir sonuç almamız gerekiyor. Bu organizasyonda bizi park disiplininde temsil edecek Ege ve Efe Tok kardeşler hazırlıklarını Roma'da sürdürüyor. Sokak disiplininde yarışacak milli sporcumuz Berke Dikişçioğu ise çalışmalarını İspanya'da sürdürüyor. 2027 yılında İstanbul'da yapılacak Avrupa Gençlik Oyunları'nda da hem kaykay hem de paten yer alacak.” Paten ve kaykay branşının hızlı bir şekilde tüm Türkiye'ye yayılmaya başladığını vurgulayan Yıldız, "Bu sporu 81 ilde yapılabilir hale getirmek istiyoruz. İllerin tamamında temsilciliklerimizi oluşturduk. Her şehirde çocuklarımızın güven ortamında hem paten hem de kaykay yapabilmesini sağlamak için çalışıyoruz. Şu an 44 şehirde profesyonel olarak paten ve kaykay yapabilecek şartlara sahibiz ve bu sporlar aktif olarak yapılıyor. 2028'e kadar hedefimiz 81 ilin tamamında bu sporları profesyonel olarak yapılabilecek şartları sağlamak. Bu sporu tüm Türkiye'de aktif olarak yapılabilen bir branş haline getireceğiz." ifadelerini kullandı. Kayseri'nin kaykay ve paten branşında Türkiye'nin önde gelen şehirlerinden birisi olduğuna değinen Yıldız, şunları kaydetti: "Federasyon tarafından lisans verilen sporcu sayısında Kayseri birinci sırada. Kulüpler Paten Şampiyonası'nda Kayseri'den bir kulübümüz şampiyon oldu. Kaykay da ise Kayseri'de 16 kulüp var. Bu kulüplerden milli takıma sporcu çıkarmayı hedefliyoruz. Şehirdeki yetkililerden bu konuda gereken desteği görüyoruz. Biz de federasyon olarak elimizden geleni yapıyoruz. Ailelerden bu spora sahip çıkmalarını bekliyoruz. Sokak sporu gibi görünebilir ancak pırlanta gibi sporcularımız var. Kaykay ve patene son dönemlerde muazzam bir ilgi var. 2029 Dünya Spor Başkenti seçilen Kayseri'ye büyük bir organizasyon yakışır. Burada dünya şampiyonası düzenlemek istiyoruz."
