Trump tries to drag King into Iran war as he says 'Charles agrees with me'

The countries have committed to a short-term ceasefire, but no long-term peace agreement has been reached. Trump said in a speech at the White House during the state dinner on Tuesday, April 29: "We have militarily defeated that particular opponent and we’re never going to let that opponent, and Charles agrees with me even more than I do, we’re never going to let that opponent have a nuclear weapon, they know that and they know that." “And we are going to stand defiant and triumphant against the forces of communism, fascism, and tyranny.” Trump addressed 120 guests at the white-tie banquet, which also saw the president recall the history of the US. Meanwhile, the King said in his speech at the White House banquet: “Yes, we have had our moments of difficulty even in more recent history. “When my mother visited in 1957, not the least of her tasks was to help put the ‘special’ back into our relationship after a crisis in the Middle East. “Nearly 70 years on, it is hard to imagine anything like that happening today.” Golfing ace Rory McIlroy, Amazon boss Jeff Bezos and Apple chief Tim Cook were among the guests at the dinner.
